What is PVAC ?

PVAC is a dynamic, specialized 5-day training program aimed at re-engaging health professionals and key stakeholders, reinforcing the global priority of Polio eradication, and enhancing the effectiveness of surveillance and response systems.

Held biannually, the course offers two tailored sessions: one for English-speaking participants from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, and another for French-speaking participants from Francophone Africa. Each session is customized to address regional needs, with particular attention to the Polio status (whether endemic or outbreak-prone) in these areas.

Co-organized by the University of Geneva (UNIGE), the Qatar University, and the African university, PVAC seeks to foster a new generation of thought leaders in Polio vaccinology and strengthen decision-making in immunization policies. Participants will receive an in-depth understanding of essential topics in Polio vaccinology and control, including immunology, vaccine development, regulatory processes, specific vaccine issues (including newer vaccines), vaccination strategies, policies, and effective communication.
